If you have found yourself on this page - welcome!! Thank you for taking the time to visit my website. As you can see in the title, this is my first time doing something like this, so bear with me. My goal with this post is to serve as a re-introduction, along with information on what I’m currently up to in the art world.
So hello! My name is Katherine Gleaton and I am an oil painter living in James Island, South Carolina. I am passionate about all things art related…from technical artistic skills, interior-design, intentional/authentic living, self-improvement, the outdoors, sustainability, self-expression, etc…
So far this year, I’ve been working on cranking out oil paintings on panel of compositions I love in both the Blue Ridge Mountains, and along coastal South Carolina. I launched what I call my first collection of paintings in a long time late last week…all associated with hikes I’ve been on mostly in Pisgah National Forest. I wanted these to be on the realistic side (compared to past works) for a few reasons…1. to demonstrate what I learned in 2023 through lots of painting practice, research, self reflection, creative growth, technical development, etc. 2. to encompass the simplistic yet complex beauty of nature all around us, 3. in hopes to bring awareness to said beauty around us. I am forever in awe of the way the light reflects off of its surroundings, and want to continue to capture that as I continue on this journey.
Right now, I’m developing a series of coastal paintings with bold, intentional brush strokes and texture. I plan on sharing my progress on Instagram and Facebook, so be on the lookout!
xoxo,
